I'm Irina Marin, a young academic who is currently transitioning to a position of Assistant Professor in Political History at Utrecht University after several years of postdoctoral studies. I have recently completed a project about the circulation of news, rumour and
violence between Tsarist Russia, Romania and Austria-Hungary, and the interconnection between the Jewish Question and the Peasant Question in Eastern Europe. The project was started at the Stanley Burton Centre for Holocaust and Genocide Studies, University of Leicester, where I benefited from a Leverhulme Early-Career Fellowship (2013-2016). I am very grateful to the VWI (Vienna Wiesenthal Institute for Holocaust Studies) for a research fellowship that enabled me to finish the final manuscript of the resulting book, Peasant Violence and Antisemitism in Early Twentieth-Century Eastern Europe.
